Hi flower lovers!
Flowers are gems from nature given to us through our friends, colleagues, business partners or family.
And we do wish for tulips for example to last forever, right?!
Bad news and Good news:
In general spring flowers don't last very long in a vase, in our homes and offices.
I can teach you a few tricks, how to extend the life of your spring flowers.
Tulips: only flower that grows by 1/2 to 1 inch out of your vase., So cut them down and change water. If your tulips go south, take a kitchen knife and cut a tiny bit into the stem right where the bloom ends and the stem begins. It will change the direction of your tulip to an up position within 5 hrs.
Irises: they need to stay in a cool place. That is the only thing that helps.
Daffodils: they are pretty hardy, just cut them every 2-3 days and change water.
Freesias: easy, they do not need cutting, just don't place under central heat, which is a good thing to remember for all florals.
Forsythia and Pussy Willlows or any blooming branch: remember to smash their stems with a hammer before putting them in your vase. change water every 2 days.
